The rooms are beautifully done and very comfortable. The food was outstanding, from the little morning biscuit tin with coffee, three-course breakfasts, afternoon teas, three-course supper and a little surprise on your bed at night time (all homemade). The stay was five stars while being comfortable and cosy. It is the most peaceful setting. Very close to all amenities and town. Gareth and Grant were very helpful with information and organising us dinners and outings. Thank you for an amazing stay. The town and wine farms around Riebeek Kasteel were great.

We arrived on Friday and after canapes next to the pool we set of to explore Riebeek Kasteel's First Friday event and had dinner in the dorp - great fun! On Saturday, they allowed for friends to join us for a loooong breakfast and endless coffees on the stoep. On Saturday night, they set a special table for two for us in the lounge in front of the fire and TV so that we could enjoy the rugby and dinner at the same time.
They have a generator, so there were no loadshedding interruptions.
Do yourselves a favour and treat yourselves by going to RK for a weekend and staying at Vineyard Views.

Vineyard Views Country House is the perfect get away. Gareth and Grant are the hosts you want to have meet you.. Their home is beautiful and I always love getting ideas to take away to improve your own home - here there are lots. It's welcoming, open and you immediately feel that you can relax as the home is everything you want in your own home. If I could've removed the entrance hall chandelier cleveryly made out of glasses, I would be hanging from our entrance hall. Great food, avoid the cake as one piece makes you want more and then you delude yourself by asking for the recipe thinking that you'll make it yourself. For my birthday my daughter and son-in-law joined us for a specially catered lunch. Slow roasted Osso Buco was perfect. A lot of time and effort went into making the lunch memorable
Every room is furnished with treasures which must have been chosen with care over a long period. My wife, who gardens, marvelled at the garden the variety of plants and the beauty with which it was layed out.

  Felt absolute treated! A truly relaxing spot with high attention to detail and comfort without ostentation. Grant and Gareth (who I think should own the title of the 'G force'... read more ) provide a carefully curated space on the edge of the town - there's an indigenous garden and beautiful open views across the valley from the deck. Scones and tea at 4 and canapés at 6 are exquisitely presented. The breakfast too is superb - enough to set one up for the day - so prepare to linger over it. My wife and i spent two spectacular nights at Vineyard Views... read more for a weekend getaway in the beautiful Riebeek Valley.

Every detail is meticulously thought out and there is a genuine feeling of "Home" in a barefoot luxury setting amongst the vineyards. Gareth and Grant are absolutely incredible hosts and you are guaranteed to be looked after during your stay.

Highlights for us included afternoon tea and cake sitting pool side, enjoying the sounds of tranquillity followed later by delicious canapé’s, topped off with bubbly... to name a few.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable with all the amenities one would need.

There is also so much to do within the village and surrounds. There's an amazing Nursey near Riebeek Wes you have to visit and a wine tasting (and Pizza) at Kloovenberg Wine estate is a must! - Rugby fans... check it out, the rugby/family history of the Du Toit family is all on display and is fascinating.

Also be sure to stop by 8-feet village, it's rather special.

However... read more there is a first for everything!

I don't generally book into a guesthouse as I am rather private and I don't like to feel like I am awkwardly positioned in someone else's home. But when you cross over the threshold of orchids, you are seamlessly absorbed into the home that is Vineyard Views. They have managed to get the perfect recipe for 5 star hotel and home. The warmth, grace, sophistication, quirk and charm are slowly injected into your body as you meander through the house unknowingly making it your own for the duration of your stay.

The Food.
There is a reason we as South Africans say we have the best food and wine in the world... the variety, the flavours, the calories and effort are noticeable and very much appreciated.
The Rooms.
Home away from Home. We had torrential rain for 3 days and it only made you feel the snugness of the home more, it was like being hugged by your favourite person.
The Team.
Vineyard Views should do a finishing school for anyone in the service industry. Hotels, Guesthouses, Airbnb's, Caravans, Spaceships.... wherever you lay your head.

I will always stay here when in Riebeek Kasteel, and if they are fully booked, I will change my plans accordingly.
